AC chargers

AC chargers are suitable for locations where vehicles remain parked for longer periods, such as offices, workplace car parks, fleet locations, or home charging. For the UK market, 50five works with selected compatible AC solutions, including Advanced Flex and Zaptec. AC charging is often a reliable choice for daily charging. In combination with charging management, you gain insight into charging sessions, users and costs, while Dynamic Load Balancing helps reduce the risk of overload. At this stage, dual AC chargers are not part of the standard UK offering. 50five will advise on the most suitable available setup based on your location, vehicles, and technical requirements.

DC chargers

DC chargers are suitable for locations where vehicles need to charge quickly, such as transport companies, logistics hubs, fleet depots, or other high-demand business locations. For DC fast charging in the UK, 50five can work with Alpitronic chargers. These chargers are suitable for locations where charging speed, reliability, and high-power output are important. Because DC charging requires more power than AC charging, 50five also advises on installation, grid capacity, energy management, and future use.

Energy management

With an Energy Management System, 50five helps coordinate charging stations, energy consumption, and available grid capacity. This makes it easier to charge efficiently and reliably, even with multiple charge points, growing charging demand, or limited grid capacity. Solar charging and battery storage can be considered as part of a future-ready energy strategy where suitable. For the UK market, suitability depends on your location, energy setup, and project requirements.

Charging management

With 50five charging management, you can manage charging stations through one online platform. Through the 50five Charge Manager or our charging management platform, you gain insight into charging sessions, consumption, transactions, and users. You can also manage portal users’ access rights and tariffs, and use reimbursement functionality for the UK market.

We are here for our customers

50five came out as the best option for us based on its appearance and the total quotation itself. With other providers, excavation work and cable routing inside the building were either not facilitated or handled by third parties, whereas with 50five this was included, meaning you have one single point of contact.

Frequently asked questions about charging stations

What is the difference between an AC charger and a DC charger?

An AC charger is suitable for locations where vehicles remain parked for longer periods, such as at home, at the office, or at real estate locations. A DC charger, also known as a fast charger, is suitable when vehicles need a lot of energy in a short time, for example at transport companies, logistics hubs, or busy locations. Which charger is most suitable depends on your charging needs, location, and available grid capacity.

Does 50five offer dual chargers in the UK?

At this stage, dual AC chargers are not part of the standard UK offering. The UK portfolio is focused on selected compatible units, such as Advanced Flex, and Zaptec for AC charging.

50five will advise on the best available setup based on your location, expected usage, technical requirements, and future growth.

Which DC chargers are available for the UK market?

For DC fast charging in the UK, 50five can work with Alpitronic chargers. These are suitable for locations where vehicles need to charge quickly, such as logistics hubs, transport depots, fleet locations, and high-demand business sites.

Because DC chargers require more power, 50five also looks at installation, grid capacity, energy management, and future use.

Can I combine charging stations with charging management?

Yes, charging stations can be combined with charging management. This gives you insight into charging sessions, consumption, transactions, and users. You can also manage tariffs and users through the platform, and use reimbursement functionality for the UK market.
